Ravenstonedale 10K

Ravenstonedale 10K Road Race. 24/11/2012 Three Elbra lads turned out for this 10K race at Ravenstonedale. Head south on the M6, turn left at Tebay, go towards Kirkby Stephen for 6 miles and you come to a lovely little village that looks a little more Yorkshire than Cumbria. It has to be said, the people there were as warm and welcoming as you’ll find anywhere. The race was a two lap affair that took you through the village at the start, in the middle and to the finish. Grisedale Horseshoe 2012

The Grisedale Horseshoe Fell Race is run from Glenridding in Patterdale. It is 16Km long and 1525m of accent. Seven Ellenborough runners and one CFR from a party of ten ran this classic fell race on Saturday 1st September followed by a few pints in the afternoon sunshine (yes, summer made a guest appearance) and an evening meal in the Travellers Rest, finishing with B&B in the Greenside YH. The race was won by our own Ricky Lightfoot, beating his Salomon team mate Rob Hope of Pudsey and Bramley into second place and the class Ben Bardsley of Borrowdale FR into third. The oldgadgy got the […]

HBMR 2010

The Ian Hodgson Relays 2010 On October 3rd 2010, Ellenborough AC put together a team of runners to compete in the Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay. It was only the second time Ellenborough had contested in this event. We put together a team in 2009 and introduced Ellenborough AC to the fellrunning fraternity. On this occasion we finished 32nd of 66 teams. Not bad for a team of eight, three of whom were over 50 years old. For 2010 we had ambitions to do better. We had gained a couple of good runners in Richard Mc Grath and Gavin Pattinson. Paul Richardson, at 16 years, was eligible to run the short leg with a senior runner (with short legs). Ricky and Brian were […]
